Given the city’s unique historical development and geographical location, the poet writes in four mainstream languages—English, Chinese, Cantonese, Cantonglish to examine how the meeting of East and West, North and South exerts its influence in everyday life, while at the same time she never forgets to speak for the neglected, marginalized and the oppressed—chicks in a decimated tree, an old lady who hungers for company, a questioning Christian, an old man battered by life...
